Captiva Island in Florida is a place where Calusa Indians once called home, and where conquistadors explored. Today, it is a popular destination for family vacations, romantic weddings, and weekend getaways.
Novelist Randy Wayne White was an acclaimed fishing guide before he wrote the first Doc Ford novel (a series which now has a devoted cult following.) Here is fascinating footage of White before he became famous as a writer. He fishes with Carl and Scott Hiaasen (Scott lands a 80-pound tarpon on 12 lb. test).
